| 54 - Niche Via di S. Isidoro | Interactive map |
|
Address: via San Isidoro at the crossing with Via Impruneta per Pozzolatico
This XVIII-century niche is in the wall of a house. Inside we can see an outstanding terracotta work with polychrome traces. The single high-relief images constitute a scene divided in two parts: high above on a cloud, there is the Virgin with child inserted in an intertwined crown that is surrounded by cherubs; below the saints Isidoro Agricola and Carlo Borromeo are placed at each side of a tree, which symbolises life and agriculture.
